Lupe, you might start by contacting one of the Apache reservations in Arizona. The San Carlos and White Mountain reservations are the two largest. They might be able to help or point you in the right directions. Good luck.

Hi, my name is lupe vaquera I’m still trying to find out if my great great grandparents are from the apache tribe their names are Andrew Mestaz and Josephine Talhis they are both from New Mexico back in the 1800s I believe, I would be so happy to try to go far back and learn about my ancestors culture, and especially having my kids and grandkids know about their culture too. Also going to native american pow wows it would be exciting and interesting.

Im finding all this VERY interesting.im proud to be part of this heriage.Im trying to find out if Im in any way related to Geronimo.My grandma on dads side was full Apache.grandad was Burton J Cobb -she was Eathel Knight-they came from Michigan.She was born-12/6/1870-1/8/1909 -dieng in childbirth for my dad.His name was MelvinDelvinthen.He then went to Maurise Raye.Id like to see if I could find if there were any tribes in Michigan back at that time??My dad was born in Vt.Janet
